Four TALL Skyscrapers Planned for Midtown

Today, two projects were announced for four very tall skyscrapers within three blocks of each other near 14th St at Peachtree.

First, just south of OPERA, Tivoli Properties announced a 51 story tower fronting Peachtree Street containing 370 luxury residential units and approximately 39,000 SF of retail with a mix of shops, deli’s and a restaurant overlooking Peachtree. There are no renderings available yet, but this is the site where the Mandarin Oriental was to be built which looked like this:

The Mandarin opted to buy The Mansion on Peachtree by Robert Stern in Buckhead.  However, the new tower could look something like this , according to Curbed Atlanta:

Even more exciting, Miami’s Arquitectonica is the architect for three towers on the important 14th Street site where the Atlanta Symphony Center was to be built by Santiago Calatrava. Planned are two 48 story towers and one 58 story tower, one of Atlanta’s tallest.  The project will encompass retail at it’s base for the Midtown Mile shopping district, residential and a luxury hotel. Here is a view of the site and a site plan:

The Atlanta Symphony has planned to build, whenever that happens, at 15th St and Peachtree, by demolishing a corner of the existing Woodruff Arts Center.  Here’s what Calatrava had planned– now a dead project:
