Swank Conversion of 60’s Office Building into Super Hip Hotel

The Old Oxford Industries Building, a Atlanta clothing manufacturer since 1942, with brands such as Tommy Bahama and Lily Pulitzer, has been purchased by developer Jim Cumming of Trillium Properties. The plan is a drop-dead cool reimagining of the circa 1965 building into a new boutique hotel.  The structure is at 222 Piedmont Avenue, Downtown Atlanta, just east of Peachtree Center.  I met Jim Cumming back in the 1990’s and he was one impressive guy. The building was purchased for $2.5 million.  Let’s hope these plans come to fruition.

Multi-talented Plexus-Architecture is the Atlanta architect of the plans.  Take a look at the beautiful renderings of the transformation of this building:
