Renaissance of Great Miami Architecture, Beauty before the Fall?

Miami’s Belle Epoch, Renaissance, or Hurricane Party?

Singular and magnificent, Miami is an enigma.

Currently exploding with some of the world’s best architecture, and being financed by the world;

yet knowing it may well be completely underwater in just 30 years.

What does it mean? Is this the world-scale equivalent of a Florida Hurricane Party? Is it pure denial? Whatever it is, the world is excited about it and are pouring billions of dollars, and many other currencies, into the party.

They are not just throwing up plain Florida concrete pancake condominiums. But, also, world-class architecture, ensuring that Miami is truly the world-class city it has worked decades to become. Perhaps that is their ultimate goal– to make the city so marvelous, so compelling, that the U.S. Government will save it when the waters come. Of course, first, the government must save New York City and Washington D.C.  Is Miami’s secret plan to be the third most important city to save? Before New Orleans, Houston, and other east coastal cities?

Perhaps, this is their best plan, since Miami is most likely the first city to be hit hard by rising sea waters.

Anyway, on to the beautiful design, turquoise waters, tropical foliage and great architecture from which all cities can learn from…

Parking Garages:

Miami would like to teach the world that the humble and hated parking garage can be an art form.

The Ballet Valet parking garage on Collins Ave. between 6th St. and 7th St. in Miami Beach, Fla., designed by architectural firm Arquitectonica and completed in 1996. It was credited with raising the bar for architectural expression in the city's parking garages.

Let us all help stop Global Climate Change, from our personal habits, to the politicians we elect.

Do we really want to risk  losing Florida, the Atlantic Beaches up to Maine, and New York City?
