SPRING: 18 Soaring Skyscrapers Sprout in Midtown

In only six blocks east-west, and 13 blocks north-south,

Midtown Atlanta has 18 new skyscrapers approved or under construction.

The four tallest towers will be 50, 51, 57, & 60 stories-

some of the most towering buildings in the US.

Seven of them will be quite tall at 22 to 25 floors. The three shortest will be 16-19 stories. And, three will be a lofty 30 to 39 floors high. Not to mention the new mid-rises with hundreds of apartments, condos, and retail spaces.

The very tallest structures will be between 12th and 15th Street between Peachtree Street and West Peachtree Street, at the very the apex of Midtown.

1125 Peachtree, a 50 story mixed-use tower being built as part of the 12th & Midtown development, just north of the Lowes Hotel.

1138 Peachtree is reported to be 51 stories residential with a whopping 39,000 sf of retail.

99 14th St is a dynamic development with towers of 60 floors, 57 floors, and a 39 floor tower. There will be 90,000 sf of retail along 14th street and on two other levels.

Symphony Hall, the Woodruff Arts Center, and the HIGH Museum are behind this new development.

Amli Midtown will be a 30 story residential tower

Metropolitan Center is being planned as a 30 story and 23 story mixed use project.

Yoo on the Park will be 25 floors and was designed by Philippe Starck of Paris.

The new project in the ravine at 10th & Peachtree (after all of these years) will be 24 and 16 story residential towers and a 5 story base of residential, retail, and internal parking decks. The original deeper ravine made old Peachtree St curve around it. This spot was called Tight Squeeze back in the 1800’s.

Georgia Tech’s new High Performance Computing Center will be 23 stories and incorporates a portion of the historic Crum & Forster Insurance Building.

The historic Renaissance Revival Crum & Forster Insurance Building was built in 1928.
